A method of photography in which an image is digitally encoded and stored using a digital camera for later reproduction
Digital cameras now outsell traditional film cameras.
The digital model includes features that are not found in film cameras, such as the ability to record audio and video. Other digital devices, such as mobile phones, now include digital photography features.
Digital Photography confers many advantages to the photographer. They can get to view their photos quickly; they have the choice of which photos to print; and they can make corrections and/or enhancements to their work with photo-editing software.
This encourages more freedom and creative experimentation, without the worry and cost of film. It is so easy to capture images that almost anyone can take reasonable, sometimes even great, photos.
However, to consistently produce these great photos requires the learning and application of a range of techniques which will save time and effort, and ensure you can always be proud of your photographic output.
